Recurrent subacute thyroiditis associated with microscopic polyangiitis (ANCA positive vasculitis)

A 56 year old lady was investigated by her GP for arthralgia and found to be thyrotoxic (TSH < 0.01 mU/l, free T4 34.8 (10–20 pmol/l), TPO 50 (<35 IU/ml)). She gave a history of anterior uveitis some 20 years earlier. Case report: A 55 years old Caucasian gentleman presented with recurrent episodes of unexplained hypoglycaemia with slurred speech, lethargy, myoclonic jerks and seizures. He had background of craniopharyngioma at the age of 17 and underwent surgery but no radiotherapy.
